HOW TO OBTAIN A VIRGINIA PRIVATE PESTICIDE LICENSE
To obtain a Virginia private pesticide license through Northampton Virginia Cooperative Extension, you will need to do the following:
- Order the study material online here. The study manual to purchase is the Core Manual – Applying Pesticides Correctly Pub. #456-210. 2020 (For exam preparation for commercial applicators (for-hire and not-for-hire core exam) except 5B, private applicators (farmers and others using restricted-use pesticides on their own or leased agricultural lands), and registered technicians in all categories. (336pp)).
- Study the material on your own or contact your ANR Extension agent for availability of core manual training classes.
- Contact your ANR Extension agent at hdoughty@vt.edu to schedule an in-person examination time at our office at 16392 Courhouse Road, Eastville, VA. The exam takes one hour to complete. You will need to bring your ID on the day of the exam.
